In a time when heroes are scarce, truth and justice ring
through Norris' character and contribute to his believability. As a result
of these values, Walker, Texas Ranger has dominated its time slot since its
inception. The series continues to appeal to the mass population by providing
a true American hero and bringing television audiences back to the tradition
of the good guys beating the bad guys. Walker Texas Ranger ended a nine season
run in May 2001. The show has won such awards as the 1998 Epiphany award for
the best Christian program. BMI Music Television Award for Walker, Texas Ranger
theme song, "Eyes of a Ranger".
